A couple of things can warm up cold winter nights like flannel sheets, blankets, and pillows. Simply changing your regular sheets for a set made of warm flannel can provide a new level of comfort for your home. It is also a great idea to put flannel throw pillows around the house for a quick uplift. If storage space is a problem, think about making or buying seasonal pillow covers. Pillow covers are easy to make and can be converted for new patterns once the holidays have ended.

If you have big glass jars in your kitchen, you can use and convert them into holiday-themed decorations! Just fill the bottom of the jar with white sugar or flour, then top with model village houses, trees, and accessories. Decorative lanterns are a beautiful year-round décor thing. Get yours prepared for the holidays by filling them with strings of lights or shiny ornaments. Tie a bright ribbon at the top for even more holiday cheer. You can use different sizes of lanterns for a dramatic effect. You may also assemble numerous string lanterns at the fireplace for immediate mood lighting or group lanterns filled with ornaments near an entryway.

For a creative procedure to count down the days to Christmas, try making a gingerbread house advent for your shelf or mantel.
